Every year Ottawa County hosts tens of (if not hundreds of) thousands of folks for the Tulip Time celebrations. In good weather, as we have had this year, the vibrant colors from the cohorts of plantings brighten the lives of everyone in the area.
Unfortunately, with the celebration comes the burden of increased traffic. With that burden, the inconvenience (and sometimes tragic consequences) of traffic accidents.
This year we had a first. In a bid to escape captivity following the overturn of a tractor-trailer, 77,000 pounds of hot dogs destined for grills throughout the area made their move.
“It was pandemonium,” one tourist was heard to say; “Totally tubular,” said another.
The real question is who pays for the wandering doggies? The clean up? The damage to the vehicles involved.
Such questions involve multiple areas of the law. Motor vehicle laws, the Michigan No Fault law, the Uniform Commercial Code: these are but a few areas our attorneys at Cunningham Dalman are trained to deal with.
Stop by and see us, maybe we’ll have weenies on the grill.
