It’s Fall and change is in the air! On October 30, 2017 the Corporations Division of the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs will introduce a new Corporations Online Filing System (COFS).
What Does this Mean for You as a Business Owner?
Your Company’s Resident Agent should have already received a mailing from the Corporations Division with your Company’s Customer ID (CID) and PIN. These numbers are not publicly available and will only be provided one time.
You will primarily use the new filing system to file your Annual Reports. Changes to corporate documents will also require use of the CID and PIN.
Your company has also been assigned a new entity ID Number (which replaces the old “ID Number”). This number will be publicly available (and is located in the upper right corner of the notice from the State of Michigan).

Keep the mailing from the Corporations Division with your Company’s Customer ID (CID) and PIN in a safe location, such as with your company record book.
